1.About Lasso and these terms
Lasso is an app and website where creators and wellness buddies connect with people through audio and video calls, booked calls, circles, live sessions, gifts and subscriptions. Lasso is operated by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (CIN [CIN]), a company registered in India with its registered office at [REGISTERED ADDRESS] (“Lasso”, “we”, “us”).
These Terms of Use are a contract between you and Lasso. They apply whenever you use the Lasso app, website or any Lasso service. They work together with:
- the Privacy Policy (how we handle personal data);
- the Refund & Cancellation Policy (coins, charges and reversals);
- the Community Guidelines (how everyone is expected to behave); and
- for creators, the Creator Agreement.
When you sign up you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy, and that you are 18 or older. We record the version you accepted and when. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Lasso.
2.Who can use Lasso
- You must be 18 or older. Lasso is for adults only. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up and may ask you to confirm your age again.
- You must be able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law and must not have been barred from Lasso before.
- You need an Indian mobile number. One person may hold one personal account.
- The information you give us (including your date of birth and state) must be true and kept up to date.
If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and deal with any money in it as the law requires.
3.Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code (OTP) sent to your mobile number. Keep your phone and SIM secure; anyone with access to them may be able to sign in.
- An account may be active on one device at a time. Signing in on a new device signs out the old one.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away through Help & support if you think someone else has used it.
- We may refuse or change a display name, photo or profile detail that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines.
4.What Lasso provides
Lasso supplies the services you buy on Lasso. When you pay for a call, a booked call, a session ticket, a subscription or a gift, you are buying that service from Lasso. Creators are independent contributors who provide their time and conversation through Lasso and are paid by Lasso under the Creator Agreement. They are not Lasso’s employees or agents.
Peer conversation, not professional advice. Conversations on Lasso are for friendly conversation and peer support. Creators and wellness buddies are not presented as doctors, therapists, counsellors, lawyers or financial advisers, and nothing said on Lasso is medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice. Please consult a qualified professional for those needs.
Lasso is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call 112. For mental-health support you can call Tele-MANAS on 14416 or 1-800-891-4416 (free, 24×7).
Creators decide when they are available. We don’t promise that a particular creator will be online, will accept a call or booking, or will keep offering a service.
5.Coins and payments
- 1 coin = ₹1 of Lasso services. Coins are a closed-system prepaid instrument: they can only be used to pay for services on Lasso.
- Coins can’t be withdrawn, cashed out, exchanged or transferred to another person, and they don’t expire.
- What a recharge costs: the pack price, plus 18% GST on the pack, plus a platform fee. The platform fee is set in our fee table, already includes its own GST, and is shown with the full total before you pay. We issue a GST invoice for every recharge.
- We use the state on your account as the place of supply for GST. Please keep it correct.
- Bonus coins come only as part of a recharge offer (they are not sold separately). They spend like normal coins, carry no GST, never expire and are never refundable. Within each recharge your paid coins are used before its bonus coins, oldest recharge first.
- Coins are non-refundable. Unused paid or bonus coins are not refunded. A wrongful or duplicate charge is reversed; see the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- Payments are processed by our payment gateway. Lasso never sees or stores your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN.
- Prices, packs, offers and fees are shown in the app at the time you buy and may change for future purchases. A change never reduces the value of coins you already hold.
6.Calls, bookings, sessions, subscriptions and gifts
- Calls are charged per minute at the creator’s rate shown before you call. A very short connection is not charged; after that each started minute is charged. A call ends when your coins run out.
- Booked calls are paid when you book. Time beyond the booked slot (extra time) is charged per minute at the creator’s rate. Subscribers use their included minutes first, then coins.
- Live sessions: tickets are paid when you join. Whenever a session is cancelled or doesn’t happen, ticket holders get their coins back. Hosts pay a session deposit when they schedule, as explained in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- Subscriptions have one total price shown before you buy, for a fixed period and a number of included minutes.
- Gifts are a payment for the creator’s time and are final once sent.
The Refund & Cancellation Policy explains exactly when coins come back.
7.Spending limits, fraud checks and reversals
To keep Lasso safe and fair for everyone, we set limits on how much can be spent and received, and we look out for unusual activity.
- Gifting limits. There are daily, monthly and per-send limits on the gifts you send (circle entry gifts count too), with a lower daily limit for new accounts. There are also limits on how much one person can gift one creator and on how much a creator can receive.
- Recharge limit. There is a monthly limit on coin recharges, counted on the total you pay (pack price, platform fee and GST). If a payment is completed that takes you over the limit, your coins are still credited.
- Limits are shown in the app and may change. Before you send a gift or pay, the app shows what you can still spend and when your limits reset (midnight India time for daily limits, the 1st of the month for monthly limits). We may change the limits for future spending; a change never takes away coins you already hold.
- Fraud and risk review. We may review activity that looks unusual, for example many new accounts paying one person or money going back and forth between accounts. While we review, we may hold or decline a transaction, limit features or suspend an account. Where the law and safety allow, we will tell you, and you can ask us to look again through the grievance process.
- Holding and reversing. We may hold, reverse or claw back gifts, coins or creator earnings that are linked to fraud, a chargeback (a payment disputed with your bank or card issuer), stolen payment details or other misuse of Lasso. If your bank reverses a payment you made, the coins it bought may be recovered from your balance or from your next recharge.
- Coins stay coins. Limits and reviews don’t change how coins work: they remain non-refundable and non-transferable and can’t be cashed out.
8.If you are a creator
If you join Lasso as a creator, the Creator Agreement also applies. It covers your share of what users pay, the hold period, withdrawals, KYC, TDS and GST. Your earnings are cash owed to you and are kept separate from coins. Coins you hold are for spending on Lasso, like anyone else’s.
9.Your content
- You own what you post or upload: profile details, photos, videos, voice intros, statuses, circle posts and messages (“your content”).
- You give Lasso a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, format, display and share your content inside Lasso as your settings allow, and to operate, secure and improve Lasso. The licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law, for an open complaint, or in backups that are cleared on their normal cycle.
- You confirm you have the rights to your content and the consent of anyone who appears in it.
- Some content is short-lived. Circle feed posts and messages disappear after the period shown in the app (usually 24 hours), unless the law requires us to preserve them.
- Don’t record, screenshot or share calls, sessions or messages without the consent of everyone in them.
10.Acceptable use
You must follow the Community Guidelines. In particular you must not use Lasso to host, share or ask for content that:
- is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, or invades someone’s bodily privacy;
- harasses, threatens, insults or discriminates against anyone, including on the basis of gender, caste, religion, region or disability;
- is harmful to children, encourages self-harm, or promotes violence, money laundering or gambling;
- impersonates someone, or is knowingly false or misleading;
- infringes someone’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries, or public order; or
- contains malware, or otherwise breaks any law in force.
You must also not: take or offer payment for Lasso services outside Lasso; share contact details to move paid conversations off Lasso; buy, sell or trade coins or accounts; create fake accounts or bookings; misuse offers; scrape, copy or reverse-engineer the app; or interfere with Lasso’s security or other people’s use of it.
11.Safety, reports and moderation
- You can report a profile, call, post, message, booking or session from the app. We review reports and may act on them.
- We may remove or disable content, limit features, hold or reverse transactions linked to fraud or abuse, suspend or close accounts, and inform the authorities where the law requires it.
- We act on orders from courts and authorised government agencies within the timelines set by law, and we preserve information as the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 require.
- If we remove your content or restrict your account, we will tell you why where the law allows, and you can ask us to review the decision through the grievance process.
12.Suspending or closing an account
- You can ask to deactivate or delete your account from Settings in the app at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, that puts other people at risk, or where the law requires it. Where possible we will warn you first.
- Unused coins are not refunded when an account is closed. If we close your account when you haven’t broken these terms, we will treat any unused paid coins as [TREATMENT OF PAID COINS ON NO-FAULT CLOSURE].
- For creators, earnings that are available are paid out as set out in the Creator Agreement, after any amounts that must be recovered and after TDS.
- We keep records we are legally required to keep (for example invoices, tax and payment records) even after an account is deleted.
13.Lasso’s rights
The Lasso name, ribbon logo, app, website and their design belong to Lasso or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Lasso app for your own use under these terms. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without paying you.
14.Other services we rely on
Lasso uses other companies to run parts of the service, such as the app store, the payment gateway, SMS for one-time codes, and real-time audio and video. Their own terms may also apply to you (for example Google Play’s terms when you install the app). We are not responsible for failures of those services that are outside our reasonable control, but we will help you with any charge or issue on Lasso that they cause.
15.Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Lasso available, safe and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Call quality depends on your network and device. Users and creators are responsible for what they say and do; we act on reports as described above. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that can’t be excluded.
16.Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Lasso is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill. Lasso’s total liability to you for any claim about Lasso is limited to the higher of (a) the amount you paid Lasso in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) [LIABILITY CAP AMOUNT]. These limits don’t apply to liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
17.Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms or the law, or your content infringes someone’s rights, you will compensate Lasso for reasonable losses and costs that result from claims by others. This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by Lasso.
18.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please raise any complaint with us first through the grievance process; most issues are solved there. Subject to that, the courts at [JURISDICTION CITY] have jurisdiction. This does not stop you from approaching a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
19.Changes to these terms
Each version of these terms has a version number and an effective date (shown at the top). If we make an important change, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and may ask you to accept the new version before you continue to use Lasso. Smaller changes (such as clearer wording) apply from their effective date.
20.Contact and grievances
For help, use Help & support in the app. For complaints, including about content, payments or your data, contact our Grievance Officer, [GRIEVANCE OFFICER NAME], at [GRIEVANCE OFFICER EMAIL]. The Grievance Redressal page explains how complaints are handled and the timelines.
